Hambo

Hambo is a beautiful turning dance for couples in 3/4 time. It is a polska variation, sometimes called the national dance of Sweden. The hambo known and loved by North Americans is the Hälsinge Hambo from Hälsinge, Sweden.

The  Hälsingehambon is a dance competition held every July, starting in Hårga, Sweden, about 180 miles north of Stockholm.
Congratulations 2018 winners of the kid's division Brede Gaston and Soren Gustafson of Seattle! (Their dad Robert Gustafson also tied 3rd place in the senior division, dancing with Anneli Wilkund from Bollnäs, Sweden).

Kid's Competition (Finale, 2018)

Adult Competition

We will be teaching Hambo again on December 12th and 19th, 2022.
