We are a recreational group dedicated to enjoying and teaching traditional Scandinavian dance. We dance and teach couple dances and lively mixers from all five Nordic countries. Each Monday typically brings out 30 or more dancers of all abilities. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and physical distancing requirements to slow the spread of the virus, we have suspended dance until it is safe to dance again. We are watching for changes in the recommendations of health experts and of the Governor, and will make an announcement when we feel we can resume gathering. When we are able to dance again, we dance at Nordia House, 8800 SW Oleson Rd, Portland. Click here for map.
Stay tuned as we plan our next event!

Everyone is Welcome!
Norske Runddansere does not discriminate. Anyone is welcome to join us- all you need is a willingness to give it a try.
Thank You Musicians and DJs!
A big thanks to those who play tunes for us every Monday!
Become a Member - It's a Great Deal
Annual memberships are available. The fiscal year starts October 1st at a rate of $100. That's still only about $2.25 per dance if you attend them all, which is a great deal! In January our pro-rate schedule begins, and we also have other special discounts for those who need it, like students. It's never too late to join and start saving. Get a membership application here.
Why? Our membership fees are just almost enough to meet our expenses. Our rent went up very significantly this year, so we still have a donation jar on the entry table. If your budget allows, would you please consider adding a little extra to your membership dues? If you can help, we thank you so very much!
We also have our own teaching DVDs for sale (set of two for $10) and our sturdy shoe bags for $10 each if you want to contribute that way!
Happening July 16th- 19th 2020
Hello dance friends,
I would like to make you aware of this event which begins tomorrow, Thursday, and goes through Sunday.
The Hardanger Fiddle Association of America (HFAA) is having an online festival Thursday, July 16 - Sunday, July 19. Since HFAA isn't able to hold it's annual workshop in Wisconsin, we hope this may act as a virtual substitute this year. It will include new teaching videos from a variety of highly respected Hardanger fiddle players and teachers, dance workshop, evening dancing and playing, and a workshop with Hardanger fiddle makers. All of this is FREE and open to everybody.
Please go to the following website for schedule and details: https://onlinefestival.hfaa.org/
There is also the Stockton Dance Camp which runs through July 18th (sorry for the late notice). Worth checking out. They have links to an extensive collection of international folkdance videos on youtube as well as information about a Global Folk Dance Party on saturday the 18th (online). http://www.folkdancecamp.org/
Until again, be safe and stay well,
