We are a recreational group dedicated to enjoying and teaching traditional Scandinavian dance. We dance and teach couple dances and lively mixers from all five Nordic countries. Each Monday typically brings out 30 or more dancers of all abilities. We dance at Nordia House, 8800 SW Oleson Rd, Portland. Click here for map.
Visit our Facebook page for more photos, videos and other cool stuff! Scroll through the live feed below! No need to belong to Facebook. Click the the box below to see more about particular items.
Why? These days our membership fees are just almost enough to meet our expenses. We didn't want to raise them this year, so we're putting a donation jar on the entry table and hoping for the best! If you can help, thank you!
We also have our own teaching DVDs for sale (set of two for $10) and our new sturdy shoe bags for $10 each if you want to contribute that way!
Happening September 24th, 2018
Hello there dance friends,
We’re going to have a dance on Monday, and you are invited to attend. Please come!
For the lessons we’ll be having a double header. The first is taught by Mr. Lyle who will introduce us to the basics of a lovely turning dance called Snoa. This will be a very important basic step to many of the dances to follow. If you are new-ish to us you should come and take it all in. You’ll be glad you did.
Secondly, our Ms. Heidi Vorst will show and teach a variation of steps you have learned already if you’ve been attending the last two weeks. Heidi will introduce a dance called Lunden Reinlender. It’s a hoot. Put on your smiling face and have some fun.
Our doors are open at 7 pm for early comers and warmer-uppers, and the lessons begin at 7:30 pm. Please be on time if you want to learn the dances.
Remember, we dance all year! We have open request dancing every Monday night, when it is not a holiday, 8:30-10:00 pm, plus special events.
Monday dances: September-May there is a free lesson from 7:30 to 8:30, with open request dancing to 10pm. Summer Monday dances start at 7:30, but there are no lessons in summer. There is also usually some warm-up time from 7:00-7:30. Admission is $5 per person or see below about yearly memberships.

Thank You Musicians and DJs!
A big thanks to those who play tunes for us every Monday!
