We are a recreational group dedicated to enjoying and teaching traditional Scandinavian dance. We dance and teach couple dances and lively mixers from all five Nordic countries. Each Monday typically brings out 30 or more dancers of all abilities. We dance at Nordia House, 8800 SW Oleson Rd, Portland. Click here for map.
Ever want to learn the Hambo, defacto national dance of Sweden and often played during intermission at Contra dance events? Now is your chance!

Everyone is Welcome!
Norske Runddansere does not discriminate. Anyone is welcome to join us- all you need is a willingness to give it a try.
Why? Our membership fees are just almost enough to meet our expenses. Our rent went up very significantly this year, so we still have a donation jar on the entry table. If your budget allows, would you please consider adding a little extra to your membership dues? If you can help, we thank you so very much!
We also have our own teaching DVDs for sale (set of two for $10) and our sturdy shoe bags for $10 each if you want to contribute that way!
Thank You Musicians and DJs!
A big thanks to those who play tunes for us every Monday!
Happening November 11th, 2019
Hello dance friends,
If you missed last week's dance that’s unfortunate. We had a really good time and a fine turnout for a comprehensive introduction to Hambo. And this week will be a follow through into the more intricate partner turning aspect of the dance, the most important part. This gets more interesting minute by minute, not to mention lively. John and Joan will take us down that path with style. You don't want to miss out on this.
Hosting this week will be our guy Mr. Bill Hoyland,, and he’ll be backed up with our local talent, Kim Majors and friends. This is going to be another good week at Nordia House. Come and join in the fun!
We’ll crank it up at 7:15 pm but if you arrive a little early you’ll have time to put your shoes on before the lesson gets underway. It’s not the easy way, but it’s the Norwegian way.
p.s. Today is the last day to get an "earlybird" discount if staying overnight for SnoBall. All registrations must be complete by Nov. 22!
p.p.s. Under the new lease, we only have the building until 9:30 pm. Please vacate by then!
Weekly Dances - Fall Lessons!
Monday dances: September-May there is a lesson from 7:15 to 8:15pm, with open request dancing to 9:30. Summer Monday dances start at 7:15, but there are no lessons in summer. Become a Member - It's a Great Deal
Annual memberships are available. The fiscal year starts October 1st at a rate of $100. That's still only about $2.25 per dance if you attend them all, which is a great deal! In January our pro-rate schedule begins, and we also have other special discounts for those who need it, like students. It's never too late to join and start saving. Get a membership application here.
