We are a recreational group dedicated to enjoying and teaching traditional Scandinavian dance. We dance and teach couple dances and lively mixers from all five Scandinavian countries. Each Monday typically brings
out 30 or more dancers of all abilities.
Happening This Week – October 16, 2017
Hello dance friends,
Dust off your shoes and come dance with us on Monday. This week will be a review of two Swedish polskor taught by our favorite Californian, Dave Charlebois. We got a good start last week, and now is the opportunity to polish up the rough edges.
Our other main celebrity is Carl Thor who will be making dance tunes when the Music Mistress Kim isn’t. It’s always fun. You ought to come and join in.
Doors are open at 7 p.m., and lessons begin at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. A brief Skill Building session takes place at 7:15 just before the teaching begins.
See you there!
Membership Due Oct 1!
Yearly membership for Norske Runddansere are due by Oct. 1. Only $60! This is a fabulous dance deal (little more than $1/week).
Thank You Musicians!
A big thanks to the musicians who play a few tunes for us almost every Monday! It really livens things up.
Why? These days our membership fees are just almost enough to meet our expenses. We didn't want to raise them this year, so we're putting a donation jar on the entry table and hoping for the best! If you can help, thank you!
Monday dances September through May are from 7-10 pm. These dances include a free lesson from 7:30 to 8:30. Summer Monday dances start at 7:30 and do not include lessons. Admission is $5 per person or yearly membership is $60 (pro-rated for folks who start later in the year) — a great deal! We dance at Nordia House, 8800 SW Oleson Rd, Portland. Click here for map.
