We are a recreational group dedicated to enjoying and teaching traditional Scandinavian dance. We dance and teach couple dances and lively mixers from all five Nordic countries. Each Monday typically brings out 30 or more dancers of all abilities. We dance at Nordia House, 8800 SW Oleson Rd, Portland. Click here for map.

Happening November 12th, 2018
Johanna and Paul are back from their trip and ready to teach us wonderful and favorite dances: The ever popular Dobbel Reinlander from Norway, the easy Feiar med Vals from Norway and the 3rd dance - easy- also from Norway Pero a mixer. Don't miss those they are a lot of fun. Bill Hoyland will be our experienced DJ.
We hope that Kim and perhaps a few more of our talented musicians in the group will play for us during the evening. That is always a joy to listen and dance to. We are so lucky to have them play so faithfully for us.
2 reminders: ScanFair is on Dec.1-2nd at the Coliseum and we are looking for volunteers to "man" the NR table for an hour or 2. It is fun to do that since we can see the performer's stage from our booth. Plus you will be eligible to enter through the "volunteer and vendor" doors without paying entry or standing in line. What a deal!! If you are interested contact Michelle or Veronika and sign up at the entry table on the next two Monday nights.
Remember we will have our last and 30th SnoBall at Mazama Lodge on 12/15-16th. If you have never been there, you can check with almost any of the "oldtimers" at the Monday dances and they will tell you how much fun that event is. You need to register before 11/19 to be eligible for the $15 discount! It is filling up fast and we only have middle/upper bunks available. See the flyer/ more info on our Snoball page. Hope to see you there!
Monday dances: September-May there is a free lesson from 7:30 to 8:30, with open request dancing to 10pm. Summer Monday dances start at 7:30, but there are no lessons in summer. There is also usually some warm-up time from 7:00-7:30. Admission is $5 per person or see below about yearly memberships.
Become a Member - It's a Great Deal
Yearly membership for Norske Runddansere is $60 per year, starting October 1st. This is a fabulous dance deal (little more than $1/week). Memberships are pro-rated if you join later in the year. It's never to late to join and start saving.
Thank You Musicians and DJs!
A big thanks to those who play tunes for us every Monday!
Why? These days our membership fees are just almost enough to meet our expenses. We didn't want to raise them this year, so we're putting a donation jar on the entry table and hoping for the best! If you can help, thank you!
We also have our own teaching DVDs for sale (set of two for $10) and our new sturdy shoe bags for $10 each if you want to contribute that way!
